Our lake provides an idyllic location for building rafts and construction challenges such as bridge building. Utilising simple materials rope, wooden poles and buoyant barrels teams design and build their project before testing it with very real consequences!

Multiple rafts can be built by multiple teams at once creating the opportunity to race. A fun finale end to a competitive event.

If appropriate experienced instructors will show you the basics before letting you loose on your creations, you are limited only by your imagination, and knot tying abilities.

The striking high ropes course offers different challenges at height for individuals and pairs. Set amongst the trees our course consists of balance beams, a high all aboard pole climb and a crate stacking task.

We like to fully involve the group with managing the safety equipment; fitting their own harness, learning to tie the right knots and working the safety ropes for each other.

It’s a team effort getting people safely to the top of the course and creating a positive atmosphere for personal success. On development programmes achieving at height can provide useful metaphors for taking on personal challenges at work.

An 8m high cylindrical climbing wall with a range of routes of different difficulties, all aimed at people who have done little or no climbing before.

Whilst a physical challenge, climbing benefits from a calm head. The surrounding group is critical creating a supportive environment to help people to achieve success.

Where appropriate we involve the group in managing the safety ropes and learning how to fit the equipment and tie the needed knots. This knowledge enriches the experience from pure activity to personal learning.

Climbing can be used in various ways for team development and leadership development programmes as well as just for fun.

Our centre specialises in creating practical problem-solving experiences, we have endless tasks and challenges to offer and they can be enjoyed in a number of contexts.

The low ropes course and team challenge course provide physical based team tasks. These tasks require groups to be hands on with each other directly supporting and lifting each other, moving task equipment and balancing. These tasks need more brawn than brains although a thoughtful approach will make them easier.

Other tasks need more brains than brawn, inviting creativity, coordination and problem solving these include practical problem-solving tasks, visual spatial tasks logic problems and table top tasks.

We can use construction challenges with poles and ropes as large problem solving tasks.

The tasks can be combined with reflective discussions and the learning applied to the work place, to consider better ways of interacting together as well as improving work place systems and processes.

Immerse your team in the woodland environment, develop some new natural knowledge and cook food together over a fire.

Bushcraft is an activity that is best with time, allowing the pace to slow down and people to fully engage with natural materials and processes. It’s a diverse subject embracing primitive fire lighting, craft work with natural materials, shelter building, outdoor living, survival and plant and tree identification.

Take a journey to create fire using different techniques lighting the BBQ at home will never be the same again. Work with knives to carve spoons from logs, turn stinging nettles into string or bake bread on the fire.

Navigate around the woods of the estate using a map and compass to find designated checkpoints. Participants work in small teams, utilising their navigation skills to locate each checkpoint in the shortest time possible.

Extend the challenge out into the wider New Forest on foot or on bike or turn the challenge into a treasure hunt.

Orienteering can be combined with team tasks with teams needing to solve problems together at check points.

With easy access straight out into the New Forest from the centre, embark on routes of varying difficulty levels, navigating through the extensive network of gravel tracks and minor roads. The New Forest is a stunning environment to explore by bike. We can organise guided bike rides, team based orienteering challenges or a stunning journey to a pub or café.

If you are staying in the New Forest Bike rides can start from your hotel or we can use bikes to get to and from the train station to get to the New Forest Outdoor Centre.

Instructors can ride with the group or provide safety and mechanical support. We tend to use modern mountain bikes with front suspension and can also access E-Bike, or gravel bikes if preferred.

Our target sports include archery, axe throwing, air rifles and pistols, and crossbows. We can also build large catapults to fling balls at targets or wet sponges at other teams! We have three log walled ranges set up for projectiles and have the ability to set up additional ranges elsewhere on site.

Instructors guide the personal skills development needed to gain success and manage the strict safety protocols.

Target sports lend themselves to competitive events and games of skill. We also utilise them creatively for team working challenges and for introducing coaching conversations.
