Access Statement

The New Forest Outdoor Centre consists of a single ground floor building, the Carpenters
Barn with direct access into a permanent marquee.

Car park

The car park is surfaced with gravel. Parking is available next to the barn porch.

Accessing the Outdoor Centre

From the car park there is a step down into the porch of the carpenters barn. Wheel chair
access is via the lawn to the right of the barn offering level access to the porch.

The porch has a flagstone floor. The porch leads to the carpenters barn, directly onto the
north lawn and around the building on a level wooden decked walkway to the marquee.

The Carpenters Barn and Marquee

The Carpenters barn has raised thresholds of approximately 5 cm to the doors with wooden
ramps either side of the thresholds. The floor of the barn is wooden.

The Barn opens directly into a permanent marquee via raised thresholds. This has a wooden deck floor.

Outside

From the marquee in one direction the deck continues on the level outside to a decked area
and then provides access onto both the lawns. There is level access from the deck onto the
north lawn and this extends back to the carpark. The campfire circle is also across this lawn.

There is a step down onto the south lawn.

There is a covered deck walkway around the side of the building back towards the porch.
Ablutions including an accessible toilet are situated from this passageway.

Accommodation

Overnights are offered in shepherd huts and tents. Each shepherd hut is accessed via 4
steps. There is no power or lighting in the shepherd huts.
